Situation: Nous was engaged by the Dept. of Education (WA) to conduct an environmental scan of contemporary recruitment practices across Australia in both the public and private sector.
Approach: Nous undertook a series of interviews with a range of organisations from diverse industries, locations and sectors to identify contemporary approaches to recruitment. The environmental scan focussed on three components of the recruitment cycle: sourcing applicants, selection techniques, and practices and processes. The interviews were supported by a targeted scan of contemporary literature on recruitment.
Result: The scan provided input and context for the Department whilst it reviewed its current recruitment practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness for both the Department and candidates and take full advantage of recent legislative amendments.
