Andrew has close to 20 years’ experience in supporting a wide range of government, private sector and not-for-profit organisations to improve their performance. Since joining Nous in 2009, he has worked with over fifty different clients across the country, with a particular focus on government and not-for-profit organisations (NFPs) working in health and human services. Andrew is passionate about working with government agencies to use data in new and creative ways to inform policy development and evaluation.

Influential work

  • Reviewed a large Australian government agency’s functions and efficiency, leading to structural changes and greater investment in cultural transformation
  • Led a three-year evaluation for Mental Illness Fellowship Victoria of the Doorway pilot program, which facilitates access to private rental accommodation for people with a serious mental illness and at risk of homelessness
  • Led the development of, a resource for NFP leaders; and which includes the first online toolkit designed for NFP leaders in Australia to assess, prepare for and implement merger opportunities
  • Analysed the extent to which current knowledge transfer and workforce development models in the agrifood sector align with new and emerging business models
  • Guided a large multinational surf-wear company’s brand strategy.

Outside of Nous

Before joining Nous, Andrew spent several years managing an anti-corruption campaign in Cambodia. He has also worked in community health and international development roles in the government, higher education and NFP sectors. Andrew currently volunteers as president of the parents association of his daughter’s pre-school.

Andrew holds a Bachelor of Arts from Australian National University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Monash University. He was awarded the MBA Top Graduating Student Award in 2010.

Andrew is passionate about exploring new music, recipes and countries with his partner and their daughter.
