Ed is a deeply experienced business strategy and operations professional. He has a sharp focus on strategic drivers, honed through 13 years in financial services, and applies this across private, public and not-for-profit sectors. Ed brings a disciplined project management approach, analytical rigour and an engaging style to any complex organisational challenge. He works collaboratively with clients to design and implement organisational strategies, drive large-scale transformation and develop new products and offers.

Influential work

  • Led development and execution of an innovative industry engagement strategy for a federal government agency to support a complex data transformation program
  • Led a multi-stream sales force effectiveness program for a large wealth manager’s business development team, contributing to a 44% uplift in investment platform flows over six months
  • Developed a dynamic quantitative model with a New South Wales university to understand the complex interactions between research and learning and teaching and inform strategic decisions about student load, staffing and space needs
  • Led the design, implementation and subsequent expansion of a multi-channel sales and service model for a major bank’s self-managed super funds clients
  • Led the implementation of post-merger human resources (HR) integration and transformation initiatives for a division of a major bank.

Outside of Nous

Before joining Nous, Ed worked for BT Financial Group, where he held several national roles across their SMSF; platforms and insurance distribution; and financial advice businesses, most recently as national manager, SMSF Operations. He has also worked in HR for Westpac, leading HR Strategy and Performance Management & Reward for the Product & Operations division.

Ed holds degrees in Business Administration and Psychology from Macquarie University. He is engaged in small business mentoring through Many Rivers, a microfinance not-for-profit organisation; and has previously mentored through the School for Social Entrepreneurs.

In his spare time...

Ed loves family, sport and live music. If he’s not at work, he’s having family time with his wife and son – unless he’s golfing or at a music festival.
