Martijn is an all-rounder with a proven track record in business transformation, optimisation, continuous improvement, action-focussed innovation and service management. He has broad and multicultural experience across the public and private sectors, including government at all levels and telecommunications, construction, finance, travel, health and consulting. Martijn is passionate about analysing complex business challenges and articulating solutions in the form of improved business models, strategies and plans that are underpinned by clear and sustainable implementation roadmaps.

Influential work

  • Program-managed VicRoads’ implementation of the Victorian Department of Treasury and Finance’s (DTF) Asset Management Accountability Framework; an asset-management transformation effort changing how VicRoads manages its $51b+ asset base
  • Created the City of Ballarat’s Innovation and Smart city approach; which included defining and forming its Digital Transformation Office; and handling business optimisation projects like waste and community-focussed initiatives like hackathons
  • Managed a service management integration project as part of the merger acquisition of Transurban and Queensland Motorways
  • Designed and implemented an information and communications technology (ICT) governance and demand management system for MYER
  • As a senior manager with DTF, reorganised and delivered service management capability uplift of the shared services arrangement CenITex.

Outside of Nous

Prior to joining Nous, Martijn founded and ran a service management consultancy in Australia. He has spoken at a range of conferences on topics including leadership and culture, business optimisation, innovation and digital transformation.

In his spare time...

Martijn enjoys being a dad, classical guitar, honing data analytics and artificial intelligence skills, working out in his gym and learning more about Zen.
