Tony is a deeply experienced human resources (HR) professional. He has expertise building organisational performance through people strategy; leadership, talent and executive development; culture change; diversity; and learning and development. Tony brings over 20 years’ experience operating at senior levels in industries undergoing significant change including education, tourism, aviation and banking and finance.

Influential work

  • Led development of people and culture strategy for Westpac Banking Corporation over three-year period, delivering significant improvements across all HR indicators
  • Reshaped talent and succession planning at Qantas Airways and Westpac through introducing new talent management approaches, managing succession planning and talent sourcing for executive roles
  • Drove improvements in leadership capability across Qantas and Westpac through introducing new capability frameworks, assessment programs and award-winning leadership and executive development programs
  • Drove award-winning improvement in diversity at Westpac; including a 9% increase in women in leadership participation, market recognition for Westpac as a leader in accessibility, mature age, Indigenous and LGBTI participation
  • Established the Westpac/AFR 100 Women of Influence Awards
  • Developed competency frameworks, national curriculum and accreditation systems to support restructuring in the tourism and hospitality sector.

Outside of Nous

Tony’s career experience prior to Nous includes leadership, capability and culture change roles at Westpac and Qantas. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing) from the University of New South Wales and is a Human Synergistics Culture Coach and graduate of the Practitioner of Change Program at Qantas.

In his spare time...

Tony is a keen traveller and enjoys reading, gallery hopping, the theatre and dance. On the weekend he and his partner often walk his dog Buddy and recover with coffee.
