Alec is driven by a desire to empower organisations and government agencies to perform at their peak and create excellent experiences that inspire loyalty from customers and employees. He has worked with clients from across the public, private and not-for-profit to develop people strategies, conduct program evaluations, engineer change interventions and design programs to develop and empower influential leaders.

Influential work

  • Managed the development and implementation of a leadership program for a global retailer with over 500 stores in Australia; the program consists of four courses tailored to three levels of leadership and is supported by bespoke 360 and 180 degree assessments
  • Assisted a federal government department over two years to conduct a comparative evaluation of 11 native title representative bodies across Australia; the evaluation sought to determine each representative body’s efficiency and effectiveness in achieving positive native title outcomes
  • Developed an organisational structure, workforce model and change plan that enabled a state government department to establish a new entity capable of delivering its rapidly expanding solar energy technology scheme
  • Assisted a federal government department to understand the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in regional centres and identify opportunities for economic, social and cultural empowerment of Indigenous Australians through the rollout of the Smart Cities policy agenda
  • Worked with a Big Four Australian bank on a series of projects to transform the way the organisation recruited and onboarded contractors and new leaders; the projects utilised leading practice, extensive consultation and human-centred design to understand the needs of new hires and drive significant employee experience improvements across the bank’s global operations portfolio.

In his spare time...

Although no longer in the hospitality industry, Alec remains a passionate home cook. If he’s not in the kitchen, he can generally be found listening to true crime podcasts or trying his hand at nature photography.
