Alec is an inquisitive and engaging professional with a penchant for using human-centred design to solve complex organisational performance issues. He specialises in strategic human resource management, leadership development, organisational design, strategy development and cultural transformation. He brings a unique breadth of experience, having worked with clients from across financial services, state and federal governments, higher education, utilities, infrastructure management and the not-for-profit sector to shape strategies, engineer complex transformations and drive successful implementation through the development and empowerment of strong leaders.

Influential work

  • Worked with a ‘big four’ Australian bank on a series of projects to transform the way the organisation recruited and on-boarded contingent employees and new leaders, driving significant employee experience improvements across the global operations portfolio
  • Worked with the executive leadership team of one of Australia’s largest faith-based social services organisations to develop an organisational vision, supporting governance arrangements and a leadership strategy to guide a multi-year transformation program
  • Assisted a state-owned infrastructure management firm with over 5,000 full-time-equivalent (FTE) to undertake a major operating model transformation; focusing on redesigning the organisation’s corporate governance arrangements, organisational structure, core partnerships and operational processes
  • Assisted a federal government department to envision, develop and implement a leader-led cultural transformation program.

Outside of Nous

Alec led the development of a strategic recognition and reward system for a local government agency with over 500 FTE and $4.7B of community assets under management in line with New South Wales’ ‘fit for the future’ reforms and was a team leader and project manager at 180 Degrees Consulting, where he provided pro-bono consulting services for not-for-profit organisations. Additionally, he created and delivered leadership programs for Western Sydney University, where he also assisted in establishing the University Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Engagement Committee.

Alec holds a Bachelor of Business and Commerce (Advanced Business Leadership) from the University of Western Sydney, majoring in human resource management and industrial relations.

In his spare time...

Alec is a passionate cook with a keen interest in military history who hopes in the near future to pursue a master’s degree in organisational psychology.
