Annette is an experienced strategic planner with senior executive experience in health services and the not-for-profit sector. Her experience includes managing change and major infrastructure projects. She assists in defining strategic service issues and needs, identifying options and solutions, and developing plans that provide a framework for action. Her operational experience instils her work with a sound understanding of the complexities of health service delivery.

Influential work

  • Developed the Royal Children’s Hospital (Melbourne) service plan and redevelopment business case resulting in government funding of $1.2B
  • Led the development of a plan to reconfigure a South Metropolitan Health Service in Western Australia (WA) to align its services across seven health sites according to the WA Clinical Services Framework
  • Worked with a complex stakeholder group to develop the Forensic Mental Health Service Plan, providing recommendations for an enhanced forensic mental health system for Victoria
  • Directed and developed the Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service Total Asset Management Plan which defined strategies to align the $989M portfolio with strategic requirements
  • Worked with the executive and board of a not-for-profit sector organisation to define and lead a merger process that enhanced service access and sustainability.

Outside of Nous

Before joining Nous, Annette established her own strategic health planning consultancy and was managing director of the strategic health planning arm of a national professional services firm. She was also executive director of strategy and service development for two major health services and two large not-for-profit organisations.

Annette was chair of the DCWC Executive Board and is an associate fellow of the Australian College of Health Service Management and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Annette holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (planning) from The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology; and has completed courses in project management, strategic communications, business process improvement and quality management. She has completed the Australian Airlines Senior Business Leadership and Management Training Program.

In her spare time...

Annette is an avid Australian Football League fan and Carlton Football Club member, attending games with her husband. She enjoys theatre, travel and the Melbourne restaurant scene.
