Cate has been an executive assistant for many years and has strong interests in economics, finance and foreign affairs; as well as in public policy, leadership, digital strategy and transformation. Cate took a career break to attend university and has now graduated with second class honours. While at university she worked on an internship in which she constructed a model to forecast LGA growth for Federation University Australia, and wrote her honours thesis on a ten-year trend analysis of economics enrolment data at Australian universities.

Outside of Nous

Before joining Nous, Cate lived in Victoria where she was a Country Fire Authority volunteer for two-and-a-half years, and she remains a Lions Club member. Her time in Ballarat for university saw Cate take on various leadership activities, including participating in conferences and establishing society for students travelling to Asia on exchange. Her ongoing engagement with the New Colombo Plan (NCP) Secretariat saw her appointed as the inaugural NCP alumni ambassador for Federation University Australia.

Cate is a lifelong learner and currently studying the Korean language with plans to study a Master of Asian and Pacific Studies at the Australian National University. Cate enjoys attending conferences on international relations and economics and is a member of the Australian Institute of International Affairs.

In her spare time...

Cate enjoys science fiction and spy dramas, knitting, backgammon, podcasts and audiobooks, writing recipes, photography, and going to the theatre. New to Canberra, she plans to explore her new city.
