Danica is a lawyer with a background in economics and political science. Her time in the legal sector working for private international mining clients has honed experience with multi-jurisdictional contracts and effective communication skills. Danica’s work within the community legal sector engaged public sector stakeholders such as hospitals, departments and advocacy services to advise clients.

Influential work

  • Drafted and executed several hundred unique service contracts for international mining client BHP, in accordance with the introduction of the 2018 European Union General Data Protection Regulations
  • Was seconded to BHP Singapore office as a paralegal advising on marketing and procurement matters
  • Served as paralegal at the Mental Health Law Centre of Western Australia (WA); advising mentally ill clients on criminal, guardianship and involuntary detention matters and working with multiple stakeholders such as hospitals, police, mental health advocacy services and courts to deliver advice.

Outside of Nous

Before joining Nous, Danica completed her articles to be admitted as a lawyer following her work at international law firm Herbert Smith Freehills and the Mental Health Law Centre of WA. At the same time she gained a Graduate Certificate in Radio Broadcasting producing live shows, radio documentaries and radio news bulletins. She is a regular show presenter at Curtin Radio 100.1 FM.

Danica holds a Juris Doctor of Law and a Bachelor of Commerce (economics, political science and international relations) from the University of Western Australia. During her degrees she served on university committees including Cancer Council’s Relay for Life, Blackstone Law Student Society, Dramatic Society and Economics and Commerce Student Society.

In her spare time...

Danica hosts a ‘70s and ‘80s music weekend radio show and loves to start the day by reading the newspaper over a hot cup of coffee.
