Danielle has six years’ experience working on public policy in analytical, policy development and service delivery roles. Prior to joining Nous she worked at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Department of Defence. She consequently has an in-depth understanding of the evolving strategic and economic dynamics in Australia’s region, and is an expert on engaging with India. Danielle has strong stakeholder management, analytical and communication skills, and takes a practical and systematic approach to her work.

Influential work

  • Coordinated and delivered high-quality briefing to support Ministerial-level trade negotiations related to the ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement, and Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership
  • Managed complex interagency and private sector stakeholder engagement relating to the whole-of-government Australian Government Crisis Management Framework
  • Drafted a scoping paper which became the basis for a large-scale review of Australian foreign, security, and trade policy in the Indian Ocean
  • Developed and implemented a comprehensive digital and social media strategy to support Australia’s successful candidacy for a United Nations Commission
  • Undertook in-depth research to refine Australia’s policy position on a complex service delivery issue.

Outside of Nous

Before joining Nous, Danielle was a policy officer at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. She worked across a range of government trade and foreign policy priorities, and was seconded Army Headquarters at the Department of Defence. Prior to this she was a research associate in the International Security Program at the Lowy Institute for International Policy.

Danielle holds a Master of International Law from the Australian National University and a Bachelor of International Studies (Asian Studies) from the University of New South Wales. She spent one year studying at Keio University in Tokyo.

Danielle is a member of the steering committee of the Australia India Youth Dialogue.

Danielle is an avid traveller and scuba diver, and is always keen to find opportunities to combine both.
