David is an education sector and data analytics expert who has worked with leaders from universities and state education departments on strategic challenges and transformation.

He brings particular strength in the development of effective strategies in changing regulated competitive markets, particularly in higher education. He can also quickly identify and focus on clients’ key issues and work collaboratively with them to develop creative implementable solutions that are underpinned by robust and innovative analytics.

Influential work

  • Led a year-long evaluation for the Foundation of Young Australians and the Department of Education and Training on a future of skills and work initiative
  • Led the modelling of student demand for an Australian university to assess the impact of opening a new campus
  • Led development of an interactive, predictive workforce planning model for a large Queensland infrastructure organisation, creating a model that will forecast supply and demand based on real-time and historical data for a five-year period for a critical workforce segment
  • Led labour market data analysis for a dual-sector university to provide input on the graduate attributes to be embedded in its future curriculum.

Outside of Nous

Before joining Nous, David worked as a corporate lawyer for over six years at two leading international law firms in Australia and Vietnam.

Outside of Nous, David is board member of the Lort Smith Animal Hospital. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Melbourne Business School and Bachelors of Laws (Honours) and Arts from the University of Melbourne. He has also completed a data science and data engineering ‘bootcamp’.
