Ed is a results-oriented business management professional with deep financial services experience. He has worked closely with executives across the value chain in business-to-business and business-to-customer contexts throughout his private sector career; delivering organisational performance improvement initiatives and large-scale transformation in business operations, sales and distribution, product and offer development, and financial advice. He has also successfully led human resources (HR) strategy and performance management for a division of a major bank, driving post-merger HR integration initiatives.

Influential work

  • Led the design, implementation and subsequent expansion of a multi-channel sales and service model for a major bank’s self-managed super funds (SMSF) clients
  • Led a multi-stream sales force effectiveness program for a large wealth manager’s business development team, contributing to a 44% uplift in investment platform flows over six months
  • Designed and implemented a new pricing framework, enabling a large wealth manager to agree to terms with several distributors (total funds under administration approximately $2B) within three months
  • Developed and executed a plan to finalise negotiations with a major investment platform provider’s largest distributor, contributing to a $900m net increase in FUA through that distributor
  • Led the implementation of post-merger HR integration and transformation initiatives for a division of a major bank.

Outside of Nous

Before joining Nous, Ed worked for BT Financial Group, where he held several national roles across their SMSF; platforms and insurance distribution; and financial advice businesses, most recently as national manager, SMSF Operations. He has also worked in HR for Westpac, leading HR Strategy and Performance Management & Reward for the Product & Operations division.

Ed holds degrees in business administration and psychology from Macquarie University and has attained RG146 compliance in life insurance; managed investments; superannuation and SMSF.

Ed is engaged in small business mentoring through Many Rivers, a microfinance not-for-profit organisation; and has previously mentored through the School for Social Entrepreneurs.

In his spare time...

Ed loves family, sport and live music. If he’s not at work, he’s having family time with his wife and son – unless he’s golfing or at a music festival.
