Ethan is people-focused, logical and passionate about making a difference. His experience designing and delivering education transformations has developed his ability to find solutions to multi-faceted issues, and building and managing the team to undertake these transformations has reinforced his belief in the importance of people to any endeavour. Ethan’s first-class honours degree in physics provides an analytical perspective to problem solving, underpinned by his clear and concise communication.

Influential work

  • Managed a novel education initiative from inception through to delivery of its key objective to transform science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education for students across Australia and internationally
  • Expanded project capability and viability by identifying and securing project funding from a diverse range of sources
  • Recruited and guided the efforts of a team of 40 volunteers over two years to create free, high quality educational resources
  • Implemented a higher education course transformation that resulted in a full grade increase in performance for students and served as an exemplar for a school-wide transformation program
  • Designed a new team structure to effectively utilise additional resourcing capacity.

Outside of Nous

Before joining Nous, Ethan worked at The Australian National University (ANU) managing the volunteer-powered MeriSTEM project, where he oversaw the development and free distribution of transformative flipped classroom materials to high school teachers. Before MeriSTEM, Ethan worked as a course developer and tutor at ANU, and prior to ANU he worked at Ross Park Primary School in Alice Springs, supporting the inclusion of special needs students into mainstream classrooms.

Ethan holds a Bachelor of Science (physics) from ANU, for which he was awarded the Technology Development Endowment by the Research School of Physics and Engineering. He currently volunteers with MeriSTEM in a strategic role.

In his spare time...

Ethan enjoys playing board games with friends and attempting to train his new puppy.  Recently he has gotten back in to running.
