Ethan is a consultant in Nous’ public policy practice. He works with organisations to develop solutions to their public policy and organisational problems, utilising a policy analysis background and stakeholder engagement experience. He adopts a clear and concise approach to problem-solving and effectively and simply communicates complex ideas. He has strong experience across a range of Nous’ service lines and sectors.

Influential work

  • Reviewed service readiness for a large-scale public housing project; including assessing against a national framework, consulting with staff and tenants, and providing recommendations to ensure continued effective service delivery
  • Evaluated a housing project delivering supportive services to Brisbane’s homeless population; including assessing the financial and non-financial partnership between support services providers and tenancy management services
  • Reviewed a coordinated health care service delivering integrated support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in regional Queensland
  • Supported the organisational transformation of a leading human services peak body from a federated model to a national unitary model; including detailed analysis of the national model’s funding arrangements, value proposition and organisational governance
  • Reviewed the operating model of a local government organisation to deliver savings to the council and ratepayers and improve alignment of activities to customer requirements.

Outside of Nous

Prior to joining Nous Ethan worked at the Eidos Institute, a Brisbane-based public policy think-tank. There he worked on MindHive, an online public policy crowdsourcing platform.

Ethan holds a Master of Science in comparative social policy from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor Arts (First Class Honours) in modern history and politics form the University of Southampton.

In his spare time...

In his spare time Ethan enjoys playing and watching cricket, playing social netball, reading novels, and catching up on his favourite television programs.
