Jessica is an effective policy and communications adviser, with strengths in digital strategy, policy development, open innovation, stakeholder management and internal transformation. She has over eight years’ experience providing policy and communications advice to public, not-for-profit and private organisations. Jessica is also an experienced project manager and has worked with international governments and organisations on how to drive cultural and transformational change.

Influential work

  • Managed large-scale projects giving strategic and policy advice to governments; including developing open data policies and establishing start-up hubs to generate innovation and stimulate economic growth
  • Designed and facilitated workshops for governments and UK grocery retailers on developing data strategies, better engaging with the wider community, becoming data-driven and fostering sustainable organisational change
  • Managed collaborations with private and not-for-profit organisations (NFPs) to publish reports including EU General Data Protection Regulation: opportunities for UK grocery sector, and How dashboards can help cities improve early childhood development
  • Provided policy and stakeholder management advice to Australian ministers, including in regional economic diversification programs and health regulation
  • Designed and led change management processes and supporting communications for government and NFPs, including to improve efficiency and effectiveness of internal clearance and business development.

Outside of Nous

Since moving to London in May 2016, Jessica worked as a consultant at the Open Data Institute; where she provided advice on data strategy and open innovation, facilitated workshops and managed projects for commercial and international partners. Prior to this she spent six years in the Australian Government as a civil servant and then a political adviser to the ministers for health and for regional development.

In her spare time...

In her spare time Jessica likes to explore the English countryside and cook for friends: she has the unique skill of using every pot and pan in the house.
