Kwasi specialises in strategy, innovation and valuation. Influential work

  • Formulated and implemented a market-ready financial strategy for a technology start-up, resulting in an increase in its valuation from $230,000 to $1 million within one year
  • Developed a three-year strategic plan to restructure an insurance firm from a state of regulator intervention to a medium-sized profitable firm
  • Led development of a digital strategy framework to encourage the adoption of innovative solutions in the mining industry
  • Designed an advanced valuation model for the energy industry to incorporate the value of information, uncertainty and management strategy in investment decision-making
  • Developed a fiscal model for a government agency to formulate its optimal tax policy
  • Conducted an ex-post analysis on government’s expenditure and policy initiatives in the education, sanitation and transport sectors.

Outside of Nous

Before joining Nous, Kwasi was a post-doctoral research fellow in The University of Queensland (UQ) Energy Initiative. He was also the economist for a multi-million dollar project, which determined the social, technical and economic feasibility of low emission technology in Queensland, Australia.

Kwasi holds a PhD in mineral economics from the University of Queensland and a Bachelor of Science in mining engineering from the University of Mines and Technology, Ghana. He is an active member of The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. Kwasi provides pro-bono advisory services to not-for-profit organisations in the areas of environmental stewardship and social interventions.

In his spare time...

Kwasi is a passionate traveller and a barista-in-training. He volunteers frequently and participated in the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games as a Game Shaper. He reads two books each week.
