Mia is a consultant in Nous' leadership and learning practice with a background in human resources and law. Mia is a strong communicator who is able to clearly articulate complex ideas and recommendations to a range of audiences. Mia is passionate about leadership development and views strong leaders as critical to the success of any organisation. Mia combines her background in law and workplace relations with her consulting expertise to critically analyse contexts and develop pragmatic and enduring solutions for her clients.

Influential work

  • Undertook a culture diagnostic to support a peak independent regulator’s values refresh, identifying opportunities to more effectively align leaders and build organisational capability, whilst clarifying the organisation’s regulatory narrative
  • Reviewed the strategic priorities, operating model, legislative framework and governance arrangements of a peak NSW government agency
  • Designed a conflict resolution model to reinforce a conflict resistant culture within a NSW government department, which identified opportunities for a broader culture change program
  • Identified key priority gaps in some branches within NSW Justice and proposed how these could be addressed in line with fundamental reforms being rolled out across the system
  • Co-designed a talent and succession management action plan for a NSW government organisation to be led by the executive team.

Outside of Nous

Mia previously worked for the Commonwealth Attorney-General’s Department. She has also held human resource management, workplace relations and legal roles.

Mia was a Commonwealth Scholarship recipient at the University of Sydney. She holds a Juris Doctor and a Bachelor of Political, Economic and Social Sciences. Mia was invited to study Honours in Workplace Relations.

Mia was a delegate to the National Council of Women’s NSW branch and has extensive experience in speech writing, public speaking and debating.

In her spare time...

Mia frequents new restaurants and theatres in her spare time. She also has a strong interest in Australian politics and sport.
