Michelle is a consultant with a keen interest in education, community-driven harm-minimisation and criminology. She joins Nous as a graduate following three years’ experience interning at Nous; assisting on projects in higher education, government and human services.

Influential work

  • Supported the development of a monitoring and evaluation framework for an Indigenous academic achievement program
  • Supported the development of a capability framework and strategy implementation for an Australian wide not-for-profit organisation, including co-facilitating state-wide consultation across the organisation
  • Worked as a research assistant for an ARC-funded project that examined the increased criminalisation of Indigenous women, with a focus on elevating Indigenous women’s voices in the criminal sentencing process
  • Served as a Jumbunna Mentor for first-year Indigenous students across the faculty of law and social sciences at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS).

Outside of Nous

Michelle holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Communications (Social and Political Sciences) from UTS, partially completed at Tilburg University, Netherlands. During her studies she worked as a research assistant on an Australian research council project that examines the over-criminalisation of Indigenous women.

In her spare time...

Michelle enjoys movie nights with friends and going to sketch comedy shows.
