Ned combines research and analytical abilities with intellectual curiosity, rigour and a keen interest in public policy. His economics and philosophy background enables him to approach client challenges in various ways; applying robust critical thinking skills, quantitative analysis and a meticulous approach to research. Ned has worked alongside government, member-based and not-for-profit clients to develop strategic plans and improve organisational capability. He is an engaging communicator with a creative presentation style, significant experience with stakeholder engagement and broad knowledge about policy issues.

Influential work

  • Co-designed a new organisational structure for the regulatory functions of a state government department to improve approaches to regulatory practice and oversight
  • Developed the strategic plan for a member-based organisation in the legal services industry through extensive stakeholder consultations
  • Developed a disability abuse prevention strategy for a state government department to strengthen safeguards to prevent abuse, neglect and exploitation of people with disability
  • Reviewed and recommended improvements to the regulatory services operating model of a local government council
  • Developed an innovative approach to providing employment opportunities for young disadvantaged jobseekers.

Outside of Nous

Prior to joining Nous, Ned worked as a budget officer in the Australian Department of Finance and as a debating coach for high school students. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Economics and Philosophy) with Honours in Philosophy from The University of Melbourne.

In his spare time...

Ned enjoys travel, playing the guitar, doing the New York Times crossword, and keeping up to date with international current affairs.
