Nick has expertise across the schools education, early childhood, health, human services and Indigenous sectors, and draws upon his varied professional experiences to bring a multidisciplinary perspective to his work. He takes a structured and person-centred approach to problem-solving, and uses a mix of qualitative and quantitative skills to develop practical, meaningful solutions that are tailored towards the client’s context.

Influential work

  • Provided strategic advice, analysis and stakeholder consultation to an independent review of a New South Wales (NSW) education agency, with the recommendations used by the minister to reshape the agency
  • Advised the Department of Social Services on moving towards an outcomes-based service delivery model, including providing policy advice, designing the model and program logic, and co-facilitating a series of co-design workshops with industry
  • Project-managed and led work streams for the functional and efficiency review of the Bureau of Meteorology, providing actionable recommendations to improve strategic alignment, efficiency and effectiveness
  • Managed a major review and the strategic planning process for an Australian Catholic school system
  • Reviewed culture and collaboration across a NSW portfolio to improve collaborative practices.

Outside of Nous

Before joining Nous, Nick worked in federal government both as a ministerial adviser and a public servant, was deputy principal of a New York City high school, and managed Aboriginal youth community programs in far western NSW.

Nick has a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from The University of Sydney.

In his spare time...

Nick is a big traveller and has lived and worked around Australia and the world. On the weekends, he enjoys music and spending plenty of time outdoors — ideally both at the same time.
