Paul has deep experience in strategy and transformation across multiple industries in Australia, North America and Asia. He combines formal education in economics and business strategy with over 10 years’ experience advising clients on strategy, leadership and large-scale transformation agendas. Paul’s work as a policy and strategy consultant has crossed the education, health, pharmaceutical, social services, regulatory affairs, telecommunications, infrastructure, regional development and fast-moving consumable goods (FMCG) sectors. Clients value Paul’s combination of strong emotional intelligence and business acumen and a deep understanding of what enables leaders and teams to perform at their best.

Influential work

  • Designed and delivered a significant cost reduction program for a research-intensive university in Canada over two years
  • Designed new academic structures to drive increased interdisciplinary research, streamlined administrative and professional services and improved governance at a top-100 university
  • Was part of the Nous team that conducted the 2020 review of the National Partnership on Universal Access to Early Childhood Education
  • Managed the independent review of a federal government division to improve the operating model for veterans’ access to pharmaceuticals
  • Managed the review of workplace health and safety regulatory, including reporting to parliament on establishing an independent watchdog
  • Wrote the five-year strategy and roadmap for schools to support the new leadership team of a provisional government’s education department.

Outside of Nous

Prior to joining Nous Paul consulted to large private and non-profit organisations in Australia and Asia. His achievements included managing the research transition program to take frozen blood from the lab to the field to support deployed forces undertaking humanitarian missions, managing the accreditation process for Australia’s first Non-Invasive Prenatal Analysis (NIPA) for blood group genotyping to determine the RhD status of the fetus, leading the consolidation and offshoring of 50 contact centres for a major telecommunications provider, managing the team who designed the business portal to access and establish Australia’s national broadband network and writing the business case to launch a new university campus.

Paul holds a Master of Economics from the Australian National University and a Bachelor of Management and International Business from University of New South Wales.

In his spare time...

Paul relocated from Canberra to Toronto office with his partner and dog in 2020. They are learning how to ice skate, run in the snow and love hockey.
