Peter is a sought-after strategist, thought leader and facilitator. He is highly regarded for strategic thinking to respond to complex, system-wide changes; and has worked with public, private and not-for-profit organisations to develop and implement strategies and operating models that deliver sustained value. A collaborative and engaging leader, Peter was named Most Client Focused Management Consultant in the 2017 Australian Financial Review Client Choice Awards.

Influential work

  • Enhanced education quality, student value delivery, international reach and financial performance of a major university through a series of strategic reform projects
  • Led a rapid, collaborative review, redesign and implementation planning project of a major state government agency to deliver improved customer focus and operational efficiency
  • Partnered with the board and executive team of one of Australia’s largest not-for-profit organisations (NFPs) to build consensus on the strategic challenges, opportunities and priorities to progress in a rapidly evolving environment
  • Developed a new operating model for an ASX200 company that delivered enhanced coordination and improved profitability
  • Advised a state government on opportunities to enhance school-based education, teacher training and curriculum development.

Outside of Nous

Peter joined Nous from PwC’s consulting practice where he focused on strategy in public sector and NFPs. Prior to moving to consulting, Peter worked as a classical musician, performing with ensembles such as Opera Australia, the Sydney Symphony and the Houston Symphony, and recording for radio, TV and film.

Peter holds a Bachelor and a Master of Music from Australian National University and Rice University, USA, respectively; and a Master of Business from the University of South Australia. He is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

In his spare time...

Peter is a keen pastry chef and baker, has an avid interest in ancient history, and is often to be found perusing bookshops.
