Richard has 26 years’ experience across Australian federal and state government security agencies. He has a strong record of achievement and sustained performance at the Senior Executive Level, including significant operational deployment experience internationally, and domestically across various senior positions. Richard’s experience includes legislative and governance reform, program and project management, recruitment, education design and practice, and management of multi-agency operations. Rich brings expertise in strategic planning, leadership and facilitating multi-agency engagement.

Influential work

  • Managed and facilitated numerous strategic planning processes for federal and state government agencies
  • Worked with Australian Government agencies to design and implement capability development and implementation, including agency-level use-of-force policies and governance
  • Managed the review and development of Covert Capabilities within federal and state government agencies
  • Managed capability development efforts for a foreign Policing agency on behalf of the Australian Government.

Outside of Nous

Prior to joining Nous, Richard held various senior positions in national security for the Australian Government and contributed to the development of foreign and state government agencies. He holds a Bachelor of Policing (investigations) from Charles Sturt University; and an Advanced Diploma of Public Safety and certificates in training and assessment, transport and logistics and policing from Edith Cowan University.

In his spare time...

Richard enjoys fishing, camping and the outdoors, and devotes much of his spare time to hobby farming. He is also a tragic supporter of the NRL’s Cronulla Sharks.
