Riley is an accomplished researcher with consulting experience working in the not-for-profit and private sectors. Having recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), he brings a nuanced understanding of psychology, research and the health sciences. Riley utilises a range of qualitative and quantitative methods to generate strategy that impacts policy and practice in a variety of sectors. Balancing his studies as an All-American student-athlete for four years in the United States, he is a proven team player and has a passion for leadership, fostering a high performance culture and delivering positive community outcomes.

Influential work

  • Researched key demand drivers overpowering the supply of health and wellness capital for a report investigating the long-term opportunity for investment in healthcare at a state and national level
  • Worked with a national US not-for-profit organisation to develop a revenue generating venture to empower marginalised youth and enhance educational outcomes
  • Developed a marketing strategy for a significant contemporary art museum to increase its exposure on a university campus
  • Worked in a team of student consultants to provide strategic insights to a start-up offering mental health services to young professionals
  • Graduated from the UCLA Wooden Academy, a four-year leadership development program aimed at fostering the skills required to lead effectively and developing impactful community relationships.

Outside of Nous

Before joining Nous, Riley obtained a Bachelor of Science (psychobiology) from UCLA. Here, he was an undergraduate research intern in an exercise physiology laboratory; a member of UConsulting, UCLA’s premier consulting organisation, consulting on projects for not-for-profit and private sector clients; a peer learning facilitator for other students in biology, statistics and mathematics; and an All-American student athlete for the UCLA Track and Field Team, competing in the 400m and 800m events at Division 1 level in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Riley was also a Global Clients and Marketing intern at Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC).

In his spare time...

Riley is a diehard Brisbane Lions supporter and plays Aussie Rules for the Morningside Panthers. He also loves running, the gym, relaxing on Queensland beaches and watching movies.
