Samantha is a medical doctor who has transitioned to management consulting having worked in healthcare settings in outer regional, remote and very remote areas of northern Australia. In addition to her extensive experience in frontline health care delivery and aptitude for applying a rural and remote lens, Samantha has worked as a research assistant and as a tutorial facilitator in both the tertiary and vocational education sectors. People value Samantha’s energy, enthusiasm and personable approach in project delivery.

Influential work

  • Conducted stakeholder interviews, developed workshop material, and co-facilitated a Group of Eight School of Biomedical Sciences strategic off-site; achieving agreed priorities and objectives and an implementation plan
  • Completed extensive research to develop a shared decision-making framework, tools and evaluation strategies to improve person-centered care at a large hospital and health service
  • Undertook stakeholder interviews to understand the drivers of success for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students at a major Australian university.

Outside of Nous

Samantha is a Brisbane-based Territorian who has worked in outer regional, remote and very remote areas of the Northern Territory and Queensland as an undergraduate student and health practitioner. She is a Council of Doctors’ in Training committee member with the Queensland branch of the Australian Medical Association, Queensland; and a volunteer with Queensland Doctors’ Health Programme/Doctors’ Health Advisory Service.

Samantha holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from James Cook University and is currently studying a Master of Public Health.

In her spare time...

Samantha spends time outside work keeping active at the gym, attending Park Run or exploring nature reserves. She also enjoys spending quality time with her family, friends and miniature dachshund.
