Simona is an experienced adviser, project manager and strategist. She has a track record of public policy successes in the energy and transport sectors, working with public, private and research sector clients to solve complex problems. She has delivered strategic initiatives in the energy sector, assisting governments and industry to deliver outcomes, with a focus on emerging and evolving technologies.

Influential work

  • Delivered a Hydrogen Standards Roadmap to support Australia’s hydrogen industry, engaging with public, private and research stakeholders to develop a consensus position on technical infrastructure needs
  • Developed a strategy and implementation plan for a national overhaul of gas appliance safety, including coordinating industry and state regulators to ensure a seamless transition
  • Represented Australia as the National Secretary of the International Electrotechnical Commission, through which the views of the Australian energy and electrotechnology industry were promoted in an international forum
  • Advised Dutch local government organisation Parkstad Limburg on the feasibility of energy self-sufficiency via renewable energy sources
  • Partnered with industry executives and government leaders to streamline energy efficiency regulations and technical standards, reducing development time by up to 12 months.

Outside of Nous

Prior to joining Nous, Simona worked as the Stakeholder Engagement Manager at Standards Australia, managing the energy portfolio. In this role she worked with energy sector leaders to identify standards priorities to support efficiencies and enhance trade competitiveness. Prior to that she worked as a Project Manager at Standards Australia, developing international environmental management standards.

She holds a Bachelor of International Relations, with honours, majoring in International business. She studied for 12 months at University College Maastricht, The Netherlands, where she also did voluntary work advising the local council on energy self-sufficiency and the transition to renewable technologies.

In her spare time...

Simona enjoys being outdoors; living by the beach she is often out walking, swimming and doing yoga. She enjoys reading, cooking and travelling as often as she can.
