Syndi is a public policy Consultant at Nous Group. She has a background in clinical psychology, with placement experience in adult mood disorder clinics (depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related disorders). At Nous, Syndi works primarily in health and human services. She uses deep knowledge of design, data collection, stakeholder consultation and analysis to deliver evidence-based change through strategy development, service improvement, and system-wide reform. Syndi is skilled at both qualitative and quantitative analyses.

Influential work

  • Evaluated the 15 HeadtoHelp mental health hubs in Victoria, established in response to COVID-19, and the eight Adult Mental Health Centres (AMHC) nationally
  • Conducted a multi-year national evaluation of the Comprehensive Palliative Care in Aged Care Measure, initiatives to improve access to and delivery of palliative care in residential aged care facilities
  • Developed a best practice education model for delivering primary prevention and family violence training in Victoria
  • Evaluated outcomes of a NSW maternal mental health service, using descriptive statistics, correlational analyses and effect size analyses
  • Supported development of a new organisational design for an Australian Government executive agency, rooted in a comprehensive workforce gap analysis developed from extensive stakeholder engagements and rigorous analysis of workforce data.

Outside of Nous

Syndi has previously worked on a major motion picture as a cinematographer. She holds qualifications in psychology and cinema studies from the University of Toronto and affective disorders (clinical psychology) from King’s College London.
