Vicki Evans has more than 20 years’ experience working at the intersection of clinical, health, research and development (R&D) and academic settings. She has led high-performing teams in research and corporate environments across Australian and international markets, commercialised leading-edge R&D and commissioned and launched new tertiary courses. Her background includes scientific and clinical practice combined with applied research and development, global pharmaceutical sales and marketing, major project management and not-for-profit boards.

Influential work

  • Led multi-million-dollar budget development, design, build, procurement and fit-out of clinical facilities to establish a new health discipline within an Australian university
  • Led a world-class clinical trials unit focused on co-invention of cutting-edge ophthalmic medical devices with international industry sponsors
  • Implemented complete system reform in a medical device clinical trials unit, demonstrating success through achieving the highest possible rating for an external Good Clinical Practice audit within 12 months
  • Provided expert technical advice, created resources and delivered practitioner education to disrupt the contact lens market through the introduction of very innovative polymers.

Outside of Nous

Vicki has most recently worked as a consultant, project manager and lecturer at University of Canberra. She is a board member at Arthritis ACT and principal at Clear Vision Consulting. Prior to this, Vicki was head of clinical research for Institute for Eye Research in Sydney (now known as the Brien Holden Vision Institute). This followed her roles as regional head of professional marketing Asia for CIBA Vision Novartis and professional affairs manager for CIBA Vision UK. Vicki was a post-doctoral research assistant at University of Oxford after completing her post-graduate qualifications in Sydney. Prior to that, Vicki was a research optometrist at the Cornea and Contact Lens Research Unit and a practising optometrist in Sydney.

In her spare time...

Vicki enjoys time with her husband and three young children, friends and family. When she can find time, she creates paintings of landscapes, architecture and abstracts.
