Zoe takes a client-centred approach to her work, drawing on her communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders on complex issues. She has experience working to achieve high-quality and equitable education for young people, having worked in education policy design, implementation and evaluation. Common to her professional experience and personal pursuits is a passion for achieving positive outcomes for people and the planet, and in particular Australia’s First Nations population.

Influential work

  • Advised a Ministry of Education in a Middle East country on a professional development system for teachers and leaders
  • Designed and co-facilitated a professional development course for policymakers and educators in Tasmania
  • Worked in a four-person team to conduct a multi-year qualitative and quantitative evaluation of a $32 million state department flagship initiative
  • Advised a state Education Department on how to improve partnerships between universities and schools to promote excellence in initial teacher education
  • Supported the design and delivery of a regional conference bringing together elders and community leaders from across Cape York to discuss self-determination and governance.

Outside of Nous

Before joining Nous, Zoe was an associate at Learning First, an education research and consulting group in Melbourne. At Learning First, Zoe advised governments in Australia and overseas on improving their education systems, including evaluating a $32 million state government program that sought to build teacher capacity to improve student learning.

Zoe has spent time at Cape York Partnership, an Indigenous policy reform and leadership organisation dedicated to empowering Cape York’s Indigenous people, and supported special needs students in Melbourne’s west to participate equally in education. Zoe holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne.

In her spare time...

Zoe enjoys spending time outside. On weekends she can be found exploring Victoria with friends or at her favourite café with a good book.
